Michael DiMercurio Fan Club Newsletter -- DECEMBER 2003

Holiday greetings to all Michael DiMercurio fans! Well, another year is almost gone and what a year it's been. In 2003 we've seen our brave troops move into Iraq to liberate the Iraqi people and to rid the world of the evil dictator, Saddam Hussein. To all those in uniform, I say thank you for all your personal sacrifices and for helping to make the world a safer place.

Speaking of personal sacrifices, I cannot overlook the story of Army Private, Jessica Lynch. This young lady volunteered to serve her country and when the call came to go to Iraq, she didn't hesitate. Her courage under enemy fire and the ordeal she endured, as a P.O.W. is an inspiration to all Americans.

This past Thanksgiving Day our President, George W. Bush, flew into Baghdad to personally thank the troops and helped serve a hot meal to some of the men on the front line. Like all of you, I was amazed that he took such a risk, but not shocked because Mr. Bush is a man of deep conviction and inner strength. This selfless act showed the world that we as Americans stand behind our soldiers and totally support them in their mission in Iraq. This month's newsletter is therefore dedicated to all our men and women in the U.S. military.

I also have news about Mike's new novel, title still classified, even to me. This new novel will be the first in a trilogy of books which will feature all new characters, set in the present day, with present day threats. Mike has promised that this new series of books will still have all the high-tech, amazing weaponry that all his previous novels are known for, along with killer plots that are sure to keep us glued to our seats as we read them. Mike is understandably protective of the secrets in his new novel, so I can't tell you anymore than I have. Hopefully, as release time nears and restrictions ease, Mike will be able to share a few juicy tid-bits to tide us all over until the book makes it to the stores. In the mean time, I'm afraid we're all just going to have to be patient.

Lastly, I want to remind everyone that the Sonar Shack Chat Room is open every Wednesday night starting at 9:00pm Eastern until 11:00pm Eastern. We've already had a couple of meetings and it's been truly wonderful to meet and talk with other Michael DiMercurio fans. There's always room for more, so I hope to see you all there.
